Experience
I have been in Private Practice since 1987, providing psychoanalytic psychotherapy, counseling and art
therapy for clients with a range of issues including: anxiety, depression,
post traumatic stress, sexual abuse, addictions, life
transitions, grief, loss and relationship issues.
I have worked in provincial mental health centers both as:
a Psychotherapist providing assessment and psychoanalytically informed
individual and group psychotherapy to mental health patients suffering
from depression, anxiety, addictions and personality disorders
-
and
an Art Therapist running groups for chronically
mentally ill patients.
I have also worked at sexual
assault centers, and other non profit counseling agencies.
I have trained and supervised Counselors at the Victoria Sexual Assault
Centre and Art Therapists at Victoria Mental Health.
I have taught Object Relations and Art Therapy; and Dream Work using Art Therapy at the British Columbia School of Art Therapy, Introduction to Psychopathology at the Vancouver College of Counselor
Training, and I have been a
teaching assistant at the
University of Victoria for the Group Processes course.
I have taught basic counseling skills to alternative health practitioners
at Langara College. |
