Experience
I have been in Private Practice since 1987, providing psychoanalytic psychotherapy, counselling and art therapy for clients with a range of issues including: anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, sexual abuse, addictions, life transitions, grief, loss and relationship issues. I have also worked in provincial mental health centers: providing assessment and treatment to patients suffering from depression, anxiety, addictions and personality disorders, and running Art Therapy groups for chronically mentally ill patients. I have extensive experience as a trauma counsellor at sexual assault centers, and other non profit counselling agencies. I have trained and supervised Counselors at the Victoria Sexual Assault Centre and Art Therapists at Victoria Mental Health and have continued to supervise practitioners in private practice. I have taught Object Relations and Art Therapy; and Dream Work using Art Therapy at the British Columbia School of Art Therapy, Introduction to Psychopathology at the Vancouver College of Counselor Training, and I have been a teaching assistant at the University of Victoria for the Group Processes course. I have taught basic counseling skills to alternative health practitioners at Langara College. Membership in Professional Organizations
